Chen: I believe the product flaw you are implying would be more accurately defined as pilot error. These are very thin and very clear. Neither the iPod Touch or iPhone seems to know it's even there. I've been using them for over 10 years.
I rarely read product instructions, even for items costing over a grand. This item, though, certainly falls into the category of "read the instructions (or else)" a few times before actually applying it. Your hands should be very clean to remove as much skin oil as possible, you should be situated in a clean area of as little dust as possible, turn off your central air to let air-bourn dust settle, and do not simply peel the protector off the backing and attempt to apply it (failure would be eminent).
You should only peel back enough to start (1cm or .5") and fold back the backing. As you slowly pull the backing, use a credit card (as a squeegee) that has a piece of tape along the edge that will be in contact with the film (to lessen the chance of scratching) and avoid bubbles. Anyone in a hurry will likely end with disappointing results, and then slam the product.
Though I have an iPod Touch now, prior to this, I've been using Palm� PDAs since 1996. These thin protectors would last a couple years on a Palm, and since the iPhone and iPod Touch don't use a stylist with a pointed end, they should last many years on Apple's products.
BTW: though the product description states it can be removed and reapplied, which is potentially accurate, DO NOT rely on it. If you follow instructions, you should never need to.
